Dining at Andolini’s is fundamentally about having an excellent customer experience. When we decided to add a bar to the new Andolini’s SLICED location downtown, we knew our bar had to match that philosophy.
History of the Name
If you’ve seen the “The Godfather,” you know that that’s where Andolini’s gets its name. During “The Godfather I,” when Michael is in Sicily, he visits Bar Vitelli – owned by the father of Apollonia, his soon-to-be wife.
Turns out, Bar Vitelli is a real place. While in Italy in 2007, my father, my brother, my nephew and I actually visited it – still in mint condition, just as the scene looked in the film all the way back in the 1970s. To say we were impressed is an understatement. We loved this place, wanted to bring the experience to Tulsa, and Bar Vitelli at Andolini’s was born.
What to Expect
We asked ourselves one question: if all of the rest of this — the food, the restaurant, the shiny new furniture – goes away, can the bar stand on its own?
We wanted the cocktails, wine, beer, the knowledge of the bartenders, and the experience itself to be strong enough to be its own destination.
When you go to any Bar Vitelli at Andolini’s, there are a few things you can expect:
- Excellent cocktails made from scratch
- Some of the most knowledgeable, friendly bartenders in Tulsa
- High quality, pure spirits as our cocktail bases…Our “well” vodka is Tito’s
- A wine list curated to a “T”
- Over 100 craft beers
- No TVs — because sometimes human interaction beats staring at a screen
If you’ve dined with us in Tulsa, Jenks or Broken Arrow before and haven’t paid much attention to the bar, don’t feel bad. That’s why I’m telling you about it now.
I love this bar, and I want other people to love it too. That’s because I truly believe it’s one of Tulsa’s hidden gems – an experience that you just have to take part in to understand.
Check out Bar Vitelli at Andolini’s the next time you stop by. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
